FAQ

WHAT TO BRING?

Make sure to bring some warm clothes and a dry towel. Even on a warm afternoon as the sun sets and the sea breeze kicks in, wind chill with wet clothes can still make you cold and miserable if not prepared. There can be fish with stings or that bite such as rays, crabs, cobbler and sharks in the water so you may want to wear shoes or booties.

We will have water, beverages, beer (Afternoon treks).

The best fishing is dawn and dusk, breakfast and dinner time. So do bring along food or have a meal before the tour starts.

There will be room for several back pack size bags.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN COME?

We can take up to 5 people though the 5th is a tight fit so best to have at least one person of slight build. Non fisher's are welcome for a nominal fee to cover any drinks or food, please ask.

WHO ELSE WILL COME?

We don't sell any spare seats after receiving a booking, making your time with us exclusive to you or your group.

Occasionally we will open up a day on a per seat basis, these days will be clearly advertised as such. Meaning there is no extra fee for a single fisher, though there may be up to 5 seats sold.

WHERE CAN I STAY IN LANCELIN?

See our ACCOMODATION page for options. We can also offer packages including accommodation and discounts on fishing sessions if you want to do multiple sessions with us.

HOW DO I GET MY CATCH HOME?

We supply bags and labeling, Fisheries WA require that each person label their own container with their name, and is responsible for their own catch during transport. We will have ice etc, you will need an esky if you have any distance to travel after the trek.

WHERE DOES THE TRIP START FROM?

We will pick you up and drop you off from your Lancelin or Ledge Point accommodation. If you are not staying in town you will need to meet us, we will advise the location.

SPECIAL REQUESTS?

If you have a special request for an extended trip, species specific hunt for Mulloway or want to teach the kids how to fish. Please contact us to discuss how we can best set up the trip.

Special occasions we can supply food, champagne, wine, beer etc. Feel free to discuss any wishes as the tours can be 'tailored' to your requests.

WHAT ABOUT WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THE DAY?

Beach fishing successfully often means working with the most suitable time of day for weather, swell, tide and the most active feeding time of the target species. It is best to check weather conditions as to what would be the best session to book or consult with us if you are unsure.

Morning fishing at or pre-dawn is often the most productive time for target species of Tailor and Mulloway. As the sun rises, we can move onto day time species with Whiting, Herring ,Garfish, etc., more likely biting well through to mid morning.

From mid morning to late afternoon the fishing is generally slow and unreliable. Mid to late afternoon herring and tailor start to come on the bite again and can become a hot bite until dark when Mulloway and Shark start to actively hunt.

If the trip must be cancelled due to weather we will contact you to discuss alternatives or a full refund. If the trip turns out to be weeded out or uncomfortable and we cant find an acceptable location to fish we will offer a full or partial refund. When we think it may be borderline we may offer to just go look and see if we can find a spot that will fish well.

WILL WE CATCH FISH?

Sorry but we can't guarantee success, fishing can be fickle. We will do our absolute best to bring fish in and get you onto them. If the fishing is slow, make the most of the moment - sunrise and sunset are a great time to take it all in and fishing is not just about the catch - the whole point of it is a contemplating time to wind back and enjoy the moment forgetting any stresses of life.

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS OF THE TREK?

You will need to sign our terms and condition prior to the start of our tour. Under 18 years age will also need to have a parent or guardian signature. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
